Bones
The park where I have been photographing is both hilly and in places wooded. One day I went up a little used trail in a wooded area of the park looking for cows to photograph. What I found well back in the woods was a dead cow. This was a shock. The cow has been dead for some time since there was no smell or insects around the body. Instead the body looked like a shell of a living cow which had deflated. Over the next year plus I photographed the slow decay of that body. Sometimes is was a faster change, for example when the gastric gases caused an explosion of the stomach, and other times very slow. The whole process was fascinating with its own strange beauty.
